Hallo lieve mensen!

De lente voelt altijd als een seizoen vol frisse ideeën — en dit jaar is daarop geen uitzondering. Terwijl de natuur weer tot leven komt, groeit ook onze drang om dingen te maken die niet alleen mooi zijn om te zien, maar ook goed doen.

Of het nu gaat om experimenten met nieuwe biologisch afbreekbare materialen, ontwerpen voor inclusiviteit of samenwerken met kunstenaars om tassen tot verhalen te maken — de afgelopen maanden zaten vol beweging en inspiratie.

Ik deel graag een beetje van dat proces met jullie — een blik achter de schermen van waar we aan werken.

Insights – Lover of Lovr
Maak kennis met LOVR, het revolutionaire materiaal van Revoltech dat ons compleet heeft gegrepen. Samen met Alejandro, een briljante geest uit de wereld van Industrial Design Engineering, werken we aan een tas die niet alleen oogverblindend mooi is — maar ook geworteld is in duurzaamheid.

Letterlijk.

Deze tas vermijdt niet alleen de vuilnisbelt — hij wordt één met de aarde. LOVR is biologisch afbreekbaar, plantaardig én stijlvol. Vorm en functie worden eindelijk verliefd op elkaar. De eerste tas presenteren we tijdens GLUE Utrecht — kom langs bij Maartje, Alejandro en mij op Oudegracht 187.

Kan functioneel ook modieus én duurzaam zijn?
Volgens ons wel!

Samen met Aleidis ontwikkelden we een collectie kleine rolstoeltassen die praktisch zijn, mooi om te zien en met aandacht zijn gemaakt. Ze zijn eenvoudig te bevestigen, altijd binnen handbereik — want een rinkelende telefoon wacht op niemand.

Je kunt kiezen voor een veilige ritssluiting of een magnetische sluiting voor extra gemak. De zachte banden van Europees hennep maken bevestiging makkelijk, en sommige modellen hebben een schouderkoord dat netjes in het achtervak verdwijnt.

Materialen? We zijn all-in gegaan:

🍎 Leer van appelresten (glad zwart)
🍍 Vezel van ananasblad (zwarte structuur)
🌵 Cactusleer (diepblauw)
🧵 En klassiek of plantaardig gelooid leer (neongeel of felblauw)
Elke keuze? Een stap dichter bij een natuurlijker, inclusiever designlandschap.

Een nieuw label, een nieuwe energie. Met een klein team had ik de eer om tassen te ontwerpen die méér dragen dan alleen je spullen — ze dragen betekenis.

REVUSD is draagbare kunst, ontworpen in samenwerking met kunstenaars.
Limited editions die bewegen — door tijd, ruimte en cultuur.

The House of REVUSD opent half mei —
Een art space. Een werkplek. Een ontmoetingsplaats vol ziel en verhalen.

Bedankt dat je me volgt op deze reis vol materialen, betekenis en maakplezier. Elke tas begint met een vraag — hoe kunnen we de dingen die we liefhebben bewuster dragen?

Of het nu een doorbraak is in biologisch afbreekbare textiel, of gewoon die ene perfect geplaatste rits die het leven nét wat makkelijker maakt — ik geloof dat design niet alleen producten, maar ook perspectieven kan veranderen.

Ik kijk ernaar uit om snel meer met je te delen.

🌿 Hello friends of thoughtful design!

Spring always feels like a season of fresh ideas — and this one is no exception. As nature reawakens, so does our drive to create things that not only look good but do good. Whether it’s experimenting with new biodegradable materials, designing for inclusivity, or collaborating with artists to turn bags into stories, this past month has been full of exciting momentum.

I’m happy to share some of it with you — a peek behind the seams of what we’ve been working on.

Insights – Lover of Lovr

Say hello to LOVR, the revolutionary material by Revoltech that’s got us completely inspired. Together with Alejandro, a brilliant mind from industrial design engineering, we’re crafting a bag that isn’t just stunning — it’s grounded in sustainability.

Literally.

This bag doesn’t just avoid landfills — it becomes one with the earth. Lovr is biodegradable, plant-based, and stylish as heck. Form and function finally fall in love. We’ll be revealing the first design during GLUE Utrecht — come visit Maartje, Alejandro and myself at Oudegracht 187.

Information Aleidis | Naturally hip and sustainable.

Can functional also be fashionable and sustainable? We say: absolutely!

With Aleidis, we designed a collection of small wheelchair bags that are beautiful, practical, and consciously crafted. Easy to attach, always within reach — because a ringing phone waits for no one.

You can choose between secure zippers or magnetic closures. Soft European hemp straps make for easy attachment, and some models come with a shoulder cord neatly tucked into a back pocket.

Materials? We went all in:

🍎 Apple waste leather (smooth black)
🍍 Pineapple leaf fiber (black structure)
🌵 Cactus leather (deep blue)
🧵 And classic or vegetable-tanned leathers (neon yellow or bright blue)
Each choice? A step closer to a more natural, inclusive design future.
